Program Highlights

AIMEP was very impressive, and I am very proud to have received the opportunity and gift of taking part in this program.

One of the most memorable experiences was when I visited a prestigious school in Australia, and observed children confidently asking questions and giving opinions. That is something I have rarely seen, especially in my Islamic boarding school, where most students are too shy or embarrassed to ask questions and give opinions.

For me, participating in this program provided insights and greater understanding of Islam in Australia. Previously, I had thought that it was difficult for Muslims to develop or have their needs met in Australia. During the program, I saw that on the contrary, Islam is actually one of the fastest growing religions there. I also saw that Islam has really been accepted in Australia, and has even provided inspiration for progress, education and governance.

Participating in AIMEP made me a more confident person, and less shy when interacting with important people. Before participating in the AIMEP, when I was teaching at the Islamic boarding school, I tended to be introverted and shy to socialise, but the AIMEP became a catalyst for me to become more confident.
