Program Highlights

AAMEP was an astonishingly great experience!

The combination of multidisciplinary and multidimensional knowledge from different ethnic communities, races, religions and sects (of Islam) was very impressive. The greatest aspect was the first-hand experience and insights into the community in Southern Thailand and the Philippines.

It was eye-opening for all of the delegates to understand the political and social landscape of Australia and Australian Islam. It changed my personal perspective towards the Australian community – a more open and welcoming society in comparison to what has been portrayed in the media.

The program represented several different mindsets to myself – thus encouraging me to be more open and give others an opportunity to express their concerns.

Secondly our discussion of environmental issue sparked me to start thinking about climate change issues. Let’s plant more trees!
