Program Details

During a dynamic program of interaction and dialogue, delegates will meet with a range of representatives and leaders across fields including education, the arts, media, government, Muslim and interfaith communities, NGOs, indigenous communities and more.

Delegates from Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei and the Philippines will take part in a 7-10 day visit program to their neighbouring region.

The program will include small group meetings, round table discussion, and visits to key sites, organisations, places of worship, leaders, and communities. Delegates will experience life in their neighbouring country, and gain an awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing  diverse communities there.

AAMEP 2023 programs will take place in June-July 2023, with Australian delegates visiting Brunei Darussalam, and Southeast Asian delegates visiting Australia.

On completion of the program, AAMEP 2023 delegates will join a dynamic and growing alumni community with members across Australia and the ASEAN region.

AAMEP alumni include emerging leaders, changemakers and activists from across Australia and Southeast Asia. Representing a diverse range of fields, they share a passion for strengthening our communities, fostering collaboration, and continuing to engage and be inspired by each other’s community work, countries and cultures.
