The Australia-Indonesia Muslim Exchange Program (AIMEP) is an intensive online and in-person program of intellectual, interreligious, and intercultural exchange that brings together Muslim changemakers, community activists and emerging leaders from across Indonesia and Australia.
Established in 2002, AIMEP is a flagship program of the Australia Indonesia Institute (AII) of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
AIMEP contributes to the AII’s aim of building people-to-people relations between our nations by fostering connections, friendships and mutual understanding between emerging leaders from both countries.
AIMEP has a vibrant and growing network of over 300 alumni. AIMEP alumni include community leaders, educators, scholars, authors, artists, entrepreneurs, politicians, journalists, legal aid advocates, thought leaders and many more inspiring change makers in Australia and Indonesia.
Through shared values and experiences, the AIMEP builds bridges of understanding and goodwill between our two nations, while creating lasting personal and professional networks and connections.
Over more than 20 years, AIMEP has enabled connection, dialogue, and growth for emerging Muslim community leaders and activists across Australia and Indonesia.
Connect and dialogue directly with high profile and inspiring leaders and changemakers, and build a community of like-minded people across the region.
The program in both its online and in-person formats features a rich range of opportunities for in-depth, meaningful learning and dialogue on issues that are important to you and your community.
